Reconciliation Action Plan

Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc. (Trans-Northern) respectfully recognizes and acknowledges the many Indigenous Peoples that have longstanding relationships with the traditional territories where Trans-Northern Pipelines operates in Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta.

This recognition speaks to the contributions of Indigenous Peoples and their connection to the land where we operate, and acknowledges our shared responsibility and care for the land and waters for future generations.

Trans-Northern is committed to reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.

We recognize and respect the diversity of Indigenous Peoples and appreciate the many unique Indigenous cultures, languages, and values in Canada.

Message from the President & CEO

In 2024, Trans-Northern initiated a Reconciliation Action Plan. We are committed to reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples where we operate.

Trans-Northern recognizes and respects the diversity of Indigenous Peoples and appreciates the many unique Indigenous cultures, languages, and values in Canada. Consistently applying these principles throughout our operations is a demonstration of our commitment to reconciliation and will help ensure the ongoing, safe operation of our pipeline systems.

This Reconciliation Action Plan represents collaboration across our organization and has been endorsed by our leadership team.

Our commitments to reconciliation encompass four main areas: relationships, procurement, Indigenous employment, and an enhanced corporate culture. Our actions cover changes to business practices, relationship building with Indigenous peoples, and providing cultural awareness training to employees at all levels.

We are excited to have embarked on this journey and are looking forward to working collaboratively within Trans-Northern and with the Indigenous communities in our operating area to further advance reconciliation efforts.

Jane Keast, President & CEO

About Trans-Northern

Reconciliation at Trans-Northern

Trans-Northern wishes to promote reconciliation through our business practices. The best practices considered in our Reconciliation Action Plan have been gathered through interaction with Indigenous communities, federal and provincial governments, industry, and leaders (Indigenous and non-indigenous) in the regional, national, and global discussion around Indigenous engagement and reconciliation.

Objectives

Ground the plan in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) & the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC).

Keep pace with current and emerging best practices for consultation, engagement and reconciliation.

Ensure integration with other internal Trans-Northern departments.
