Jane Keast – President and CEO

Jane Keast was appointed President and CEO of Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc. in August 2020. A licensed professional engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the Oil and Gas, and Power Generation sectors, her career has spanned a broad range of leadership experience in Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance, in addition to functional roles in Environmental Health & Safety and Supply Chain Management. Most recently, Ms. Keast was supporting the Suncor Commerce City Refinery leadership team on the advancement and implementation of safety, reliability, and environmental improvements. From 2012-2016, she led the Suncor St. Clair Ethanol Plant business, progressing the development and implementation of a long-term strategy and operational management system, and embedding operational discipline principles into everyday operations. Ms. Keast holds both a Chemistry degree and a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont.

Michèle Laperrière – Vice-President, Engineering and Integrity

Michèle Laperrière has worked in the energy sector since 1995 when she joined Imperial Oil. With a backgkround in mechanical engineering, Ms. Laperrière has held a variety of project-management, planning and supply roles throughout her career that saw her working in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec and on Canada’s East Coast. Prior to her appointment to lead the company’s Engineering and Integrity Group on July 1, 2020, Ms. Laperrière led initiatives to enhance Trans-Northern’s Operational Excellence Management System.

Gail Sharko – Director, Regulatory and External Affairs

Gail Sharko joined Trans-Northern Pipelines in 2012. With over 30 years of experience, she has held senior positions within the transportation industry specializing in Health and Safety, Quality, Regulatory and Compliance. Ms. Sharko is responsible for ensuring that TNPI conducts its business within regulatory requirements and follows sound industry practices to ensure operational excellence for internal and external stakeholders.

 

Luc Camiré – Vice President, Operations & Corporate Safety

Luc Camiré is a Mechanical Engineer with 25 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, primarily with Shell. He has worked in Ontario and Quebec in a variety of roles, including bulk terminal operations and project management. Mr. Camiré also brings several years of experience in leading HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) management systems. Mr. Camiré is responsible for leading the Product Movement and Field Services groups at TNPI.

Michael Speagle – Director, Business Services and Secretary-Treasurer

Michael Speagle has been with TNPI over 20 years. In his current role, Mr. Speagle is responsible for financial reporting, taxation, treasury, and overseeing the accounting and budgeting functions for TNPI. Mr. Speagle is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University.

Bernadette Silva-Nguyen – Manager, Environment, Emergency Management, & Security

Bernadette Silva-Nguyen joined Trans-Northern Pipelines in February 2022 as Manager, Security, Environment, and Emergency Management, overseeing the company’s environmental and asset protection and emergency preparedness and response functions. As a chemical engineer with over 16 years of experience in the oil industry, she has held multiple positions in engineering, business analysis, regulatory affairs, environment, health & safety, and project development. Prior to joining TNPI, Ms. Silva-Nguyen was a Senior Development Lead at Suncor where she was leading large, multi-facility projects, related to supporting sustainability and energy transition goals. Ms. Silva-Nguyen holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Management degree from McMaster University and is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

Nadia Qaqish – Manager, Human Resources

Nadia Qaqish returned to Trans-Northern Pipelines in January 2023 in the role of Manager, Human Resources, having previously worked with the company in the same capacity from 2013-2015 as a secondee from Suncor with a mandate to establish and strengthen TNPI’s human resources policies and programs. Ms. Qaqish brings more than 20 years of experience to the position, including senior-level advisory and coaching capabilities, employee and labour relations, recruitment, inclusion & diversity, and leadership and talent development. Her experience spans a number of industries, with her most recent role being in the energy sector with Suncor. Ms. Qaqish holds Bachelor of Arts degree from York University and post-graduate studies in Human Resources from Seneca College. In her role as Manager, Human Resources, she provides expertise and guidance for all HR-driven initiatives and programs.
